ALL ABOUT YOU:
Tell us a little bit about you growing up?
I’m 51 years old and was born in Egypt. I’m the middle child with two brothers, one either side of me. I came to Australia in 1993 and entered into an arranged marriage. I have 4 children, 3 boys and one girl. I’ve been back to Egypt a few times, but not for a while. I lived in Fremantle twice, once with my ex-husband and once time on my own for 9 months. I used to go to catch lobsters at the Fremantle Marina which I loved.
What are some things you enjoy doing?
My love is Arabic music and my favourite is Amr Diab, an Egyptian singer. I like to travel, especially to Egypt and Israel.
If you were writing a recipe for ‘LIFE’ - what would you top 3 ingredients be?
ALL ABOUT A BEAUTIFUL FOOD EXPERIENCE LUNCHES:
What did you like most?
I like the lunches a lot. I shared my table with other people from Cora Graves Community Centre. The food is really nice, a little bit middle eastern which I like. Its good to come out for an afternoon and share a meal. Today I enjoyed most the Chicken dish and the beans.
ALL ABOUT FOOD, THE MEMORIES, THE EMOTIONS, THE SPECIAL TIMES
Do you have a special food memory?
My favourite food is vine leaf roles and cabbage rolls, also I love Molokhia, its an ancient traditional Egyptian soup. My kids also loved it when I make pasta béchamel. My son he learned it from me and can make it himself now.
